Sommar members receive daily personalised pollen forecasts, so you can make sure you’re prepared for whatever the summer throws at you. Each forecast is bespoke, so we only warn you about the allergens that we know you’re sensitive to and are present at your location.

Sommar started as a project in the Summer of 2024 to try and understand my and my partner’s hay fever better. I wanted to know why the pollen forecasts I was getting from conventional weather apps never seemed to reflect how we actually felt our allergies were day to day.

Allergy blood tests gave pages of numbers, but without the corresponding knowledge of what pollens were in the air they weren’t terribly useful.

From this frustration Sommar was born, and six (ish) months later we were ready to launch.

We test for 33 airborne allergens and our proprietary Pollen Engine® integrates your test results with a forecast of pollen distribution to generate your own daily score, that’s unique to you and your location.

I really hope that Sommar can help other people understand their own allergies better and to be prepared for high pollen days when they inevitably do come in the Summer.
